Two killed, 10 injured in road accident in Kamchay Mear district

Prey Veng: Two Killed, 10 Injured in Horrific Traffic Accident Caused by High-Speed Car Breakdown.

A tragic traffic accident claimed the lives of two individuals and left 10 others injured when a speeding car experienced a left rear wheel malfunction, causing it to overturn.

The incident occurred at 3:45 pm on March 9, 2024, in Thnal Keng village, Smaong Khang Cheung commune, Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province.

According to authorities, the vehicle involved was a white Nissan car with license plate number Phnom Penh 2AS-0551, driven by 38-year-old Ros Rady, a resident of Stung Chrov Village, Sangkat Takhmao, Takhmao City, Kandal Province.

The deceased victims were identified as a 54-year-old male, the director of Krabao Health Center from Tan Phleung Khi Smaong village in Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province, and a 7-year-old resident of Stung Chrov village, Takhmao commune, Krong district, Takhmao, Kandal province.

While the exact cause of the accident is under investigation, police have confirmed that the car was traveling at an excessive speed when the tire burst, leading to the driver losing control.

Following the collision, the injured individuals were rushed to the hospital, while the deceased were handed over to their relatives for traditional funeral arrangements.
